Children and their families in Gaza are living with the devastating aftermath of two years of intense conflict. Street Child is horrified at the impact this has had on children — the declaration of famine, the heartbreak of families torn apart by loss, and the destruction of homes and communities. More than a million children continue to face extreme shortages of food, water, and medicine, and are in urgent need of mental health support.
Over 90% of schools have been damaged and will likely need full reconstruction or major rehabilitation to be functional again.
A pause in hostilities marks the beginning of a long journey to recovery for children and their families in Gaza. As with all emergency responses, it is local organisations who will make the greatest impact as recovery and rebuilding begin. Whilst Street Child does not currently have a presence in the region, we continue to actively assess how and when we can best make an impact through trusted local partners. If you wish to support a local response, we guarantee to pass along 100% of donations directly to organisations working on the ground to help children and families rebuild their lives.
