Cyclone Chido struck northern Mozambique on December 15th, leaving a trail of devastation that is threatening the safety and education of 90,000 children in the country. Mecufi, one of the key districts where Street Child operates, has been hardest hit, with entire communities levelled and families left without shelter or basic necessities.

Street Child is on the ground in Mecufi. Together with local organisations, we are working tirelessly to assess the needs of children and families while delivering critical supplies, with a focus on providing emergency shelter. We are also helping to reunite children and their caregivers who were separated during the chaos, and organising play and counselling for children who survived this traumatic event. Moving forward, we will look to restore access to education as every school in Mecufi has been destroyed.

Your support today will help thousands of children and their families recover from this disaster.
