Formula E, the world’s first all-electric motorsport, and Street Child are launching the Climate Response Accelerator Fund — a rapid-response initiative to rebuild schools in the world’s most climate vulnerable contexts.
Since 2020, climate-related emergencies have disrupted the education of 62 million children. As floods, storms and droughts grow more frequent and more severe, classrooms are destroyed, families are displaced, and learning grinds to a halt. Climate change is now one of the biggest contributing factors pushing the world’s most vulnerable children out of school.
Street Child works to ensure children living in the most disaster-hit and low-income countries can go to school. We strengthen education systems to be resilient to climate and economic shocks. But when schools are damaged, a child’s safe space to learn is taken away — and the longer they are out of school, the less likely they are to return. That’s why rapid response and repair of education infrastructure is essential, ensuring that learning can continue even in the face of crisis.

Sierra Leone is one of the most climate vulnerable countries across West Africa, with more than 500,000 children currently not in school. Heavy storms are washing away school buildings, destroying learning materials, and forcing closures that can last months. All funds raised by the Climate Response Accelerator Fund in 2026 will be immediately allocated to repair schools across Sierra Leone, ensuring children can return to school as soon as possible.
