Nepal Flash Flooding Emergency Appeal

In the morning of 26 August, an unimaginable flash flood ripped through Central Nepal - like a tsunami, washing away entire villages, homes, roads and schools.

The death toll is rising, and hundreds are missing. The only thing that's certain right now is the scale of the destruction, and the suffering it has caused.

As in any disaster like this, children are among the most vulnerable: torn from their homes and classrooms, and at heightened risk amid the chaos and displacement that follows.

Many of the worst hit areas are places Street Child knows like the back of our hand.

In the years after the 2015 earthquake, we built 75 schools, most in extraordinary locations, around the mountains of Rasuwa and Nuwakot Districts, which is the epicentre of this disaster. Schools that serve children in these very communities, now facing catastrophe once more.

Right now, our teams are mobilising to stand again with these communities.

Right now, we urgently ask you for support.

We have the skills, the local knowledge and the passion. With your support, we can make an incredible difference for these communities in their latest hour of incredible need.
